Sponsoring Yeovil Rugby Club

Giving next generation a sporting chance

Boon Brown is sponsoring Yeovil Rugby Club on a number of initiatives that aim to build self-esteem and confidence in young people in South Somerset through the discipline of sport.

The Young Sports Leaders programme involves local secondary school pupils from years 7, 8 and 9 – including Westfield School, Bucklers Mead Academy and Preston Academy – helping to coach and referee games. To ensure a full understanding of the game, local RFU Community Rugby Coach, Paul Cox, coached pupils in school time and after-school. Yeovil Rugby Club’s Minis and Juniors Coaches also took time off work to support the events.

A round of coaching and competition events have also been held for local primary schools and attended by over 100 children who each received a certificate of merit at a special presentation.

Mark Davidge, Yeovil Rugby Club Vice Chairman, said: “Without Boon Brown’s support local events like this would not be possible, so a massive thank you on behalf of the club and the schools.”
