MAY 1986

BOON BROWN PARTNERSHIP

Boon Brown Partnership began when architects Clive Brown and Richard Boon joined forces to start a small practice in Westminster Street, Yeovil, Somerset in 1986.

1990s

NEW COMMISSIONS

Many of the partnership's earlier commissions were from GKN Westland Helicopters. One of the first major commissions was for a 25,000sq.ft. aircraft testing facility, a unique project which received widespread recognition and became a foundation stone for the practice.

SEP 1996

LIMITED COMPANY

Boon Brown Partnership was incorporated under the Companies Act 1985 as a limited company on 25th September 1996 and became Boon Brown Limited.

JUL 2000

NEW DIRECTOR

The founding partners were joined by architect Justin Paterson in 1996, who was later appointed as Director in 2000. The practice began to branch out and work for a wider range of clients including housing associations, local authorities and private developers.

MAR 2005

COMPANY GROWTH

"Boon Brown" as we had become more commonly known, grew to 35 strong by 2005 having secured major MOD housing commissions such as Broadsword Park and Middle Wallop.

AUG 2006

DIRECTOR APPOINTED

Craig Jones joined Boon Brown in 2004 after having worked on a wide range of complex and exciting developments across the UK and in SE Asia. In 2006 he was appointed as Director and is responsible for many of our London-based projects.

OCT 2006

TOWN PLANNING DIRECTOR

Not long after moving into the new Motivo head office, Boon Brown was joined by former planning team leader for South Somerset District Council Shaun Travers to head the Boon Brown town planning team.

APR 2008

FIRST ASSOCIATES APPOINTED

Boon Brown appointed our first ever Associates, with long-serving employees Nigel Tapper, Nick Francis and Mike Payne being recognised for their loyalty and dedication to the practice.

2010s

AWARD-WINNING PRACTICE

The practice continued to grow and build on its reputation for quality and design, delivering a diverse range of prestigious award-winning projects.

JAN 2014

LONDON OFFICE

Boon Brown opened our first office in London to give local support to our continued and growing success with projects in and around the capital.

JUL 2014

TOWN PLANNING ASSOCIATE

Following six years as Planning Consultant with Boon Brown, Matt Frost was promoted to Associate in recognition of his role building the success of the Town Planning Team, which continues to go from strength to strength.

NOV 2014

OFFICE MAKEOVER

Boon Brown's Yeovil head office underwent a makeover, adding a splash of colour to the design studio and creating a more vibrant and modern space – perfect to sustain the creative work that goes on within.

MAY 2016

OFFICE RELOCATION

Boon Brown relocated its London office to its present site in Battersea to accommodate the rapid growth of staff following an impressive number of project wins. These included a four-year framework for London & Quadrant HA and several large residential schemes for Bellway (North London).

JUL 2016

LANDSCAPE DIRECTOR

As part of the vision and commitment to expand its services within the built environment, Boon Brown has recruited Oliver Clark as Landscape Director. His role is to build a Landscape Architecture team in London and take Boon Brown to the next stage in its evolution.

NOV 2016

NEW ASSOCIATE

Dan Dymond returned to Boon Brown in 2016 and was appointed as Associate to lead the Battersea office. Dan first began his career as an architectural apprentice with Boon Brown in 2004. In 2011, he completed his degree in architectural training and moved to London to continue his career.
