    CORTON WOOD FARM

Sutton Montis | Somerset Corton Wood Farm comprises a complex of buildings providing accommodation for livestock. The brief was to relocate an existing steel framed barn on the site to form a cluster with the new barns. Having worked with many clients in the farming community, Boon Brown understands the function of farm buildings and the overwhelming importance of the health of the animals. This understanding led Boon Brown to design a durable, versatile building to meet the client's needs. The new metal clad barn is 32.2m x 10.7m with a ridge roof height of 5.6m. It is constructed of olive green profiled fibre cement sheeting for the roof with translucent in-line polycarbonate roof lights and 1500mm grey precast concrete panelling for the walls with hardwood timber infill. The materials were chosen for low maintenance and rot-free alternative to traditional timber weatherboarding.
