Transformation of Existing House
A traditional approach has been taken to the design of the elevations to reflect the suburban location and utilise local materials. The building has been rendered and a plinth formed at ground level to break the massing and provide interest. Casement style windows has been introduced and the clay roman tiles retained on the roof.
The proposed extension has been designed to blend with the existing form and retain the original roof pitches and heights. This retains the appropriate building scale that is recognisable within the area. The elevations have been designed to ensure that traditional proportions are followed and the facade is broken up by areas of glazing/doors. A focal point entrance gable which extends out from the building provides a porch way and covered entrance.
