Listed church conversion to homeless centre

The Yeovil Foyer project was the first ‘rural’ foyer project in the UK providing in-house training for young homeless people who, without a permanent address, would be unable to secure employment.

The Diocese of Bath & Wells offered this Grade II Listed Church for community use and Boon Brown was instrumental in finding an appropriate alternative use for the building.

The foyer building provides an array of accommodation within the two extensions including bedrooms, mentoring spaces, cafe and shared facilities for the users. This classic vernacular design uses reclaimed Yeovil stone with hamstone reveal and quoin detailing forming a symmetrical facade which enhances the setting of the Conservation Area.
