Overview
As Neal's Yard Remedies continued to grow, the company sought to expand its headquarters and production facilities at Peacemarsh, Dorset. BoonBrown was appointed to deliver a thoughtfully integrated scheme that would support operational growth while remaining true to the brand's long-standing commitment to sustainability, wellbeing and the natural environment. The result is a distinctive workplace, retail and manufacturing destination that reflects both the values and personality of one of the UK's most recognisable natural health and beauty brands.
A brand-led design approach
The design draws inspiration directly from nature and the Neal's Yard Remedies brand. At the heart of the scheme are three interlocking hexagonal office buildings, inspired by the honeycomb pattern associated with the company's Bee Lovely product range. Their striking form creates a memorable first impression while providing bright, collaborative workspaces that support creativity, wellbeing and connection.
Careful consideration was given to ensuring the new development complemented the existing eco-factory buildings, which have become an established local landmark. The architecture balances innovation with continuity, creating a cohesive campus that feels both familiar and forward-looking.
Supporting growth through sustainable design
The 1,275m² expansion includes new office accommodation, retail space, warehouse facilities and factory extensions, providing the capacity needed to support the company's ongoing growth. Sustainability and wellbeing were central to the design approach, with living walls, extensive landscaping and natural materials helping to strengthen the relationship between people, place and nature.
A new customer-facing retail space, constructed using exposed timber elements, creates a welcoming destination for visitors, while enhanced warehousing and production facilities improve operational efficiency across the site.
