Established in 1986, the BoonBrown architecture team have grown into multi-skilled collaborative team of architects, masterplanners, technologists and passive house designers. Working together, we provide our clients with a comprehensive design service that not only delivers on brief but also considers a wide variety of external factors including connectivity and place-making, inclusivity through design, enhancing biodiversity and delivering buildings sustainably.
We are passionate about creating inspiring places but understand the wider environmental challenges and strive to produce progressive and innovative architecture that performs on all levels; socially, economically and environmentally.
Services
Feasibility Design
Engaging with clients to explore new opportunities is an integral part of our architectural service. This can be at a large scale including high level masterplanning all the way down to schematic concepts for an extension to a private home. Focused on bringing new ideas to the table, we like to evolve initial ideas with our clients to ensure the design meets the brief whilst project risks are identified from the outset.
Planning Applications
Working together, BoonBrown will prepare a coordinated design package tailored to the needs of your project and the type of application you require. We aim to provide a design solution which exceeds your initial expectations and brief, whilst meeting any other technical criteria including environmental and planning policy constraints. We work closely with our town planning consultants and landscape architects to ensure a holistic approach is taken to each individual design.
Technical Design
Our technical architects and technologists have extensive knowledge of building regulations and are experienced in developing comprehensive technical packages that are easy to translate and construct from. We believe architectural detailing to be a fundamentally important part of the design process as this is how we deliver a quality appearance and successfully execute an initial design concept. As a practice we work in a variety of software packages and can work to BIM Level 2 should this be a requirement.
Tender & Specification
However you chose to procure your project, BoonBrown can assist you with this decision making and assemble an appropriate tender package. We will tailor our involvement to your needs and can produce detailed drawings and schedules, NBS specifications and tender documentation to suit. Tender documentation is fundamental to design execution and cost control so we pledge to get it right.
Construction
During construction we can perform a range of roles including by not exclusive to; contract administrator, employers agent and project manager. By carrying out regular site inspections, we have an opportunity to overcome any on site issues promptly, monitor construction works in relation to programme and value construction works should our role include certifying payment.
Principal Designer
In accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the majority of projects require the appointment of a principal designer to take overall responsibility for planning, managing and monitoring Health and Safety aspects of your project. We believe Boon Brown is best placed to offer this service to complement and enhance our role as Architect on your project.
